The mission relies on 3 teams: -Hospitality -Accompaniment -Support
Young girls are taken off the street to learn trades and live virtuous lives.
The mission provides motorcycles, farming lands, seeds and fertilizer to allow local and refugee families to survive.
The Saint Joseph Mission was started 18 years ago when Hermine-Jesus immigrated to the US. But it was not until March 19, 2019 that the organization earned official status. In her early years, Hermine-Jesus learned from her mother to put her time and talents to use by accompanying those in need and to always have compassion for the poorest . To achieve this, she applied herself to studies, earning a couple of graduate degrees in the US and a certification in Spiritual Direction. These empowered her while homeschooling her kids to launch a mission of accompaniment and hospitality here in Colorado while reaching out to the people on the margins in Cameroon. Since then, with the help of her family and friends, many individuals living in the US, both lay and religious, have benefited from attention and guidance. Simultaneously in Cameroon (Africa), where a civil war is now raging and a half a century brutal dictatorial regime have stripe many of their dignity the mission is present to the most vulnerable. Among others, numerous severely handicapped and neglected children, from local orphanages and remote places are receiving access to healthcare and education, their dignity is being raised. Today, with the support of a growing leadership team in Denver, the elderly and afflicted are visited and comforted receiving Spiritual Direction. Likewise, children from far away places in Cameroon are empowered to be self-sufficient and are taught to connect with God and their neighbors.
Since its creation, the mission has paid numerous medical bills to allow individuals, often kids, to regain a normal life.
Children are also helped to discover the power of their prayers for themselves, their parents and their neighbors in the midst of their life struggles.
The afflicted are visited and comforted.
New hope is given to the marginalized in a society where people believe that being handicapped is a curse.
